A painless blurring of vision
Cataract leads to blurred, fuzzy or hazy vision. While normal vision ensure crisp, clear well defined images.
Light Sensitivity
Cataract vision leads to reduced light sensitivity resulting in glare and undefined images. While normal vision ensure crisp, clear well defined images.
Double vision in one eye
Cataract may lead to double vision in one eye resulting in blurred images. While normal vision ensures crisp, clear well defined images.
As we grow old the natural crystalline lens become harder and loser its natural flexibility to focus on people and things at varying distances, it creates vision problems. Gradually the lens turns couldy and your eye becomes like a widow that is frosted or yellowed. With cataract you might also experience difficulties in extremely bright or dim light conditions.
Intraocular lens implantation
Today an intraocular lens (IOL) is used to replace the human lens in more than 95% of cataract patients. The IOL is normally implanted in the same procedure as cataract removal. The lens is typically implanted behind Iris or coloured portion of the eye and cannot be seen from the outside.
Aspheric IOLs
Bausch & lomb's Akreostm AO is designed with unique Advanced Opticstm technology which makes it aberration free or zero aberration IOL, Akreostm AO also has the ability to provide better depth of perception (the ability of the eye to gauge relative difference between two objects).
Advanced Optic IOL
The Akreostm AO lens is one of the latest and the most advanced Intra Ocular Lens from Bausch and Lomb presently available, and has zero aberration Aspheric design. Akreostm AO comes from the trusted, Proven, Safe Akreos family.
1. Better Contrast Sensitivity:
Imagine driving the car post operatively in night or on hazy day and being able to do without any help. The Akreostm AO due to its unique Zero aberration design provides image which is sharp in all light conditions: Morning or night; bright or dim.
2. Better Depth Perception:
Even as we walk or climb up a surface, drive a car; we need to gauge the distance between the objects that are around us. The Akreos AO aids this ability of the eye post operatively more as compared to others IOL's.
3. Anti Glare Technology (Minimizing Glare)
Akreos AO Lens has the latest anti glare technology. These advanced lenses are made of biocompatible material glare. While there have been reports of glare from some patients who have been fitted with certain intraocular lens, eyes fitted with Akreostm AO Lens, easily accept them with excellent visual outcomes.
